Chiropractic care
Chiropractic adjustments reduce nerve disturbances that may make the ears prone to infection. Our bodies are innately healthy, or in other words, have the ability to heal itself. When that ability is impaired, it means something else is going on. We start at the integrity of the nervous system.
Nerve Compromise
Some of the nerves that control, regulate and monitor the ear begin in the brain stem and continue down the spinal cord. They then exit out from between the bones of the spine. Changes to the function of the bones in the upper neck may compromise the quality of the nerve signals to and from the brain. Obviously, this can affect the organ or tissue to defend itself from infection (an ear for example).
Impaired Drainage
Nerve compromise is often accompanied by abnormal tension to the muscles that support the spine. These muscle spasms can exert pressure on nearby drainage ducts, which prevents natural drainage, further complicating the problem.
Our Approach
We are experts in this area. When you bring your child to our office, we will look specifically for distortions in the upper neck. If nerve tension is detected, we reduce it wil an adjustment that is commonly with a gentle touch at the right place and direction.
