Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression in Meridian & West Boise

A woman lies on a spinal decompression table with a touchscreen, wearing gray activewear, for back therapy

Relief for bulging and herniated discs, without surgery or injections.

Spinal decompression gently stretches your spine on a specialized table to take pressure off damaged discs and the nerves they’re pinching. You lie down fully clothed while the table moves through slow, gentle cycles of stretch and release. Most patients find it relaxing.

Already had an MRI? Bring it in for a free MRI review with one of our doctors. We’ll walk you through what it shows and whether decompression is a good fit.

When disc pain starts running your day

It may be time to come in if:

  • You’ve been told you have a bulging, herniated or degenerated disc
  • Pain shoots down your leg (sciatica) or into your arm
  • Sitting, driving or bending over makes it worse
  • You have numbness, tingling or weakness in your legs, feet, arms or hands
  • You’ve tried rest, pills, stretching or injections and the pain keeps coming back
  • Someone mentioned surgery and you want to try everything else first

How spinal decompression works

Your discs are the cushions between the bones of your spine. When one bulges or tears, it can press on a nearby nerve and cause pain, numbness or weakness that travels into your arms or legs.

Our decompression table gently and precisely stretches the injured part of your spine. That creates space between the vertebrae, takes pressure off the disc and nerve, and lets fluid and nutrients flow back into the disc so it can heal. The table senses your body’s response and adjusts the force, so the stretch stays low-force and smooth. It isn’t like an inversion table or hanging from a bar; it targets the exact level of your spine that needs it.

How we get you moving again

Decompression works best as part of a complete plan. Our Decompress & Revive program combines:

  • Spinal decompression to take pressure off the disc and nerve
  • Chiropractic adjustments to restore motion to stiff joints that keep irritating the area
  • Corrective therapy and laser to strengthen and stabilize your core and spine so the problem doesn’t keep coming back
  • Nutritional support with custom protocols to calm inflammation and support tissue healing
  • Therapeutic massage when tight muscles are guarding the injured area

We use decompression for disc-related sciatica, low back pain and neck pain. Decompression isn’t right for everyone (for example, during pregnancy or after some spinal surgeries). If it isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you and recommend what is.

Get care right away (call 911 or go to the ER) if you lose bladder or bowel control, have numbness in your groin or inner thighs, or weakness in your legs that is getting worse quickly.

Your first visit

  1. Talk: We listen to how your pain started, where you feel it, and what you’ve already tried.
  2. Exam: We test your nerves, reflexes, strength and movement, with X-rays when they’re needed. If you’ve had an MRI, one of our doctors will review it with you for free.
  3. Plan: We explain what’s going on with your disc in plain language, whether decompression is a good fit, how many visits to expect and what it costs.
  4. Start feeling better: When it’s appropriate, most patients receive their first treatment the same day.

Frequently asked questions

No. It’s a slow, gentle stretch, and the table adjusts to how your body responds. Most patients find it comfortable, and many find it relaxing.

It depends on your condition and how long you’ve had it. Disc problems usually need a series of visits over several weeks, not a single session. You’ll get a specific recommendation and the cost after your exam.

Many of our decompression patients come to us looking for options before surgery. We’ll examine you and tell you honestly whether decompression is a good fit or whether you should see a surgeon.

No. An inversion table stretches your whole body at once. Our decompression table targets the specific level of your spine that’s injured and controls the force and timing, which you can’t do at home.

No referral or MRI needed. If you already have an MRI, one of our doctors will review it with you for free. If we need imaging, we can take X-rays in our office or refer you for an MRI.

Coverage varies by plan. We’ll check your benefits and go over the cost before you start, so there are no surprises.
