What is Anxiety?
We may not think that it would be possible for kids to experience anxiety, but as many as 1 in 10 kids experience anxiety daily. Anxiety is a condition that causes nervousness, fear and unease about an imminent event, or situation and may cause flushed face, shyness, or shaking. It often times affects educational and athletic performance. And while this is common in kids, it is not normal.
What to look for
The possible causes of anxiety in kids are environment, social settings, and stressful situations, however, there is commonly one other factor that is overlooked: subluxation.
Subluxation is a disturbance in the nervous system that causes increased stress. The brain interprets these stress signals as dangerous and causes kids to then become more on edge, shy or anxious.
